Learning
At Dutch Creek, we empower leaders and learners who are kind, respectful, and determined. We are proud to be an EL Education Network School, which uses expeditionary learning for content mastery, character, and high-quality work. Our students thrive in a learning environment that honors movement, curiosity, demonstration of learning in a variety of ways, and recognition of age-appropriate developmental processes. Each school year students create representations of their newly acquired knowledge that they present to family members during celebrations of learning. Dutch Creek staff members connect student learning to the real world via field trips and/or work with guest speakers. Students frequently work together on projects, and are encouraged to develop deep levels of understanding and expertise in content areas. We love that students are joyful, curious human beings and believe their learning environment and our relationships should reflect these values.
