May Newsletter

Dear Dutch Creek Families,

I cannot believe it is May already! As the school year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we have embarked on together over the past year. It has been a year filled with growth, learning, and resilience, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished as a school community.

First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated and talented teachers and staff. Their unwavering commitment to quality education and their collaborative spirit are the driving forces behind what makes Dutch Creek successful each day.

To our amazing students, thank you for your hard work, enthusiasm, and resilience throughout the year. Your curiosity and eagerness to learn inspire me, and your smiles are what make me excited to come to work each day. We are so proud of all that you have achieved this school year!

Lastly, to our Dutch Creek families, thank you for your partnership and trust. Your involvement and encouragement played a vital role in our students' academic and personal growth, and I am beyond grateful for your continued support.

In the spirit of CREW, we all play an important role in the success of Dutch Creek. I recently enjoyed reading The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel James Brown and found so many connections to what we do here every day. He states, “Great crews may have men or women of exceptional talent or strength; they may have outstanding coxswains or stroke oars or bowmen; but they have no star. The team effort - the perfectly synchronized flow of muscle, oars, boat - that is the key.” I know absolutely nothing about rowing, but this quote beautifully states the importance of every CREW member here at Dutch Creek. From staff to students to our community…we are all CREW, and I want to thank you for a wonderful year.

As we turn the page to summer break, I encourage everyone to take this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality moments with family and friends.  I wish you joy, laughter, and fun in the sun!

Warmest regards,

Sara Oliver

Principal
