FUN RUN!!!

We have an exciting fundraiser in store for students to help bring much-needed funds to our school! 

Our Fundraiser at a Glance:

🚀 Kickoff Event. Students will learn what to expect from the fun days ahead and how the fundraiser will work.

🛠️ Character-Building Videos. Our school will follow along with a character-building program called World Changer Workshop. Students will learn about five different character traits needed to make a difference in the world!

🎁 Throughout the week, our class will earn fun rewards based on how much we raise on our classroom donation tracker. When our class earns a reward that adds some extra awesomeness to our day, I will be sure to let you know!

🎉 Event Day. This is the epic celebration - Dutch Creek Fun Run!

Our school has a fundraising goal of $30000 and we are raising funds for playground equipment updates

We Are Making Leprechaun Traps!

Date: Thursday, March 14

Must Bring: Box or Container

We will be spending time making leprechaun traps in kindergarten. The students will bring them home so that you have a fun family activity in which you can set out the trap to try to catch a leprechaun the night before St. Patrick’s Day. Leprechauns have been known to visit the trap and leave behind a mess (confetti, gold coins, upside-down chairs, etc. ) Your child came up with a plan in class of what they wanted to do to catch the sneaky guys, please talk through the plan with your kiddo and figure out what supplies they will need to make/execute their ideas!  Plan on sending them with their box or container and supplies they will need (and extra to share with the class) some supply suggestions are below and you can also find fun ideas on Pinterest.

Kindergarten ZOO Field Trip

We will take a field trip to the Denver Zoo on Friday, April 5th. Your child will need to bring a sack lunch, snack, and water bottle (COMPLETELY DISPOSABLE and labeled with their name), wear comfortable walking shoes, and have sunscreen applied before arriving at school.  The cost will be $3.50 and that is due on Friday, March 29th. If you are interested in chaperoning, please let your child's homeroom teacher know ASAP.  It will be on a first come first serve basis, and we will get back to you with more detailed information if you are selected to go. See the blue permission slip that went home this weekend.

We have started allowing students to play on ABC mouse in class as an incentive if they have completed their Lexia minutes (because this is required by the district).

Here are the directions on how to sign into Lexia at home with your student so that they can continue to practice their reading skills when they are at home.

Lexia Login

1. Go to the Dutch Creek main webpage Home - Dutch Creek Elementary School (jeffcopublicschools.org)

2. Click the icon for logins

3. Click on LexiaCore5

4. Type in your student’s homeroom teacher’s email.

5. Click login with Clever *(this step is the most important)

6. Click login with Active Directory

Type in your student’s login and password (you will need to delete your login information so you can put their information in.)

* If you have a tablet you can download that LexiaCore5 app. If you download the app you will only need to follow steps 4-7. You also need to be sure to click Login with Clever and not try to sign directly into the app.
